Environment Division of the Mekong River Commission would like to announce the "Mekong Environment and Climate Symposium 2010" which is to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam on the 26th-27th of April 2010.
At the event, there will be 5 thematic sessions:
Thematic session 1 "Development of Methodology and Tools for protection of the Mekong River environment"
Thematic session 2 "Environmental knowledge sharing for the Mekong River"
Thematic session 3 "Bridging environmental policy, decision makers and stakeholders on Mekong environmental protection and conservation plans of action"
Thematic session 4 "Preparedness and adaptive
capacity to Mekong environment changes and climate risks"
Thematic session 5 "Partnership and collaboration for a sustainable Mekong environment"
We aim to organize the event as an interactive platform for stakeholders and concerned citizen to share, discuss, and connect in a permissive atmosphere.
Stakeholders from the MRC Member Countries (Cambodia, Lao
PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam), Dialogue Partners (China and
Myanmar), donor agencies, MRC Programmes, scientists from
the Mekong River Basin and the international community,
international and national civil society organisations,
journalists, and local communities are expected to join
the forum.
