The second train-the-trainer programme on environmental crime, for environmental inspectors, prosecutors and police officers of ECENA countries, was held in April 2009 in Eger, Hungary. The training was designed to increase the countries’ capacities to solve problems connected with crimes against the environment and was carried out jointly by the ECENA Secretariat and the Central European University. Experts from the Regional Environmental Center, Interpol and the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior as well as environmental inspectors, judges, prosecutors and police officers from Hungary shared know-how and best practices in relation to the detection, investigation and prosecution of environmental crimes. A website was designed for the event to provide background information, documentation and logistical details, as well as an opportunity for online registration.
