A User Guide for Officials in the Eastern Europe and Caucasus Region

The User Guide was developed under the EU project "Environmental Information, Education and Public Awareness in the Eastern Europe and Caucasus Region". The project was implemented in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

The overall aim was to Improve the quality of environmental protection and environmental decisions by incorporating public interests. The project provided assistance to public officials, NGOs, the media and other sectors of civil society to continue implementing the Aarhus Convention. National team representatives from environmental ministries, NGOs, local and regional government, media, academia and other sectors implemented the project in each country. The work was carried out in partnership with a regional team based in Kiev, and with project partners, the Aarhus Convention focal points.
