The Regional Environmental Reconstruction Programme for South Eastern Europe (REReP) was developed to address the challenges of environmental reconstruction in South Eastern Europe (SEE) after years of instability and military conflicts. This programme provides a unique platform for trust and confidence-building because of its political neutrality, and because the transboundary features of most problems in question can be addressed efficiently only through a concerted effort. This publication serves as an information showcase for REReP’s achievements and its potential value for other countries and regions. It also discusses lessons learned during the implementation of REReP priority projects.
