Study Visit on EC Ambient Air Policy and Legislation

A study visit on ambient air was held in Brussels, Belgium, on March 30 to April 1, 2009. The study visit was hosted by the Flemish environmental authorities and dealt with many aspects of the current legislative and policy framework on ambient air. It also tackled aspects of the newly adopted Directive on Ambient Air Quality and Cleaner Air for Europe. The study visit comprised training and exercises, as well as a tour of an industrial installation affected by the ambient air legislation. A website was created for the study visit to provide background information, documentation and logistical details, as well an opportunity for online registration.
