The goal of the 'USE Efficiency' project is to create a common stream for energy efficiency systems in university buildings. Both universities and students are targeted as shining role models for energy-efficient solutions and energy-conscious behaviour.
The project involves ten EU countries (nine universities and four market players), and in addition to improving energy efficiency in university buildings, training programmes will be offered to students. Indeed, students are the project's main actors, as they will learn about energy efficiency by working and interacting with professors and energy experts.
Major outputs of the project are collection and analysis of available EPA methodologies, improved energy performance of university buildings, trainings for students, active involvement in defining energy efficient measures for their universities, information and experience exchange among key actors and Universities, increase of cross national knowledge on energy efficiency for buildings.
USE Efficiency is funded by Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) and will run over 32 month starting from June 1, 2009 till January 2012. The project kick off meeting was held in Rome, Italy, on July 20-22, 2009.
Partners involved in the successful implementation of the projects are:
