Waza-Logone and the Lake Chad Shoreline Pilot Projects Signed Funding Agreement of $129,253 for Local Initiatives
Agreements for funding 14 local initiatives projects totaling $129,253 were signed Friday 23rd of February 2007 with community associations and the IUCN Central Africa Regional Office at Maroua in the Far North Province of Cameroon within the framework of funding provided to local communities in the in Waza-Logone and the Lake Chad Shoreline Pilot Projects. The IUCN Central Africa Regional Office is contractor appointed by the LCBC for the implementation of the Waza-Logone and the Lake Chad Shoreline Pilot Projects.
The community projects are designed by the local communities with the assistance of the IUCN Central Africa Office who are partners in the implementation of the Waza-Logone and the Lake Chad Shoreline Pilot Projects. All the projects have the common objectives of the reversal of the degradation in the land and water resources and the promotion of sustainable development practices in the exploitation of the natural resources of the Lake Chad basin.
